Network & Congestions in Network

What is networking ?

Networking is like a Bhulbhulaiya. It is very easy to manage. To understand networking the first thing which is need to be understand is the flow of data. In a more simpler way, For example:

Traffic management on roads: The role of traffic police man is to manage the traffic. Clear the traffic related issues. The way they manages is similar to the traffic manged by the router & switches in the network.

Congestions in network:

How network congestions occur?

There are many reasons of network congestions:

* Multiple requests to a single destinations at a same time results in  a network congestions

Example: * When Multiple requests are hitting simultaneously to centralized single node mail server it will results in a congestion or in other words a havoc. Bandwith utilization increases and more often it crosses the limit. As a result users will start complaining that we are unable to receive a mail or mail is to slow. To solve this issue many company go for increase in bandwith. The actual reason behind this is the hard disk utilization. Hard disk utilization increases. This is most common issue now a days.  Increasing bandwith is not the exact solution. For the short term it is okay if you are finding any alternatives. But for long term prospectives, it is a foolishnes & wastage of money.

*Data travelling through opposite directions results in a congestion

Example: * This type congestions is most often found in point-to-point network or in other words peer-to-peer network. In point-to-point network when two newly formatted computers are connected to each other i.e; one is master & other is slave it would work fine. But when as the time progresses people will found that in slave ystem web browsing would be slow, in terms of database where master is the server
slave would become slow to access database etc & many things. All this is nothing but a congestion and this hampers the operating system which results in a slow performance. The resons behind this is that the two computer exchange their data through single route. If this is ignored then the impact would also be seen in the main PC slowly & slowly.
